A very thoughtful and considerate review of 4 Second has appeared over at ReGeeken.
The review is brief and worth reading in its entirety, but I was particularly intrigued by this quote about noir-style storytelling:
The art work isn’t your classic noir style but the story is where the darkness lays. The morality ambiguous lead characters created out of the sleazy, sometimes hard to look at, realities of life, dramatically contrasting with the bright comic book style art of Karl Kesel and colors of Grace Allison. Quoting Paul Simon, “They give us those nice bright colors, they give us the greens of summers, makes you think all the world’s a sunny day,” but in Cassie’s world it rains every day.
I couldn’t have said it better myself!
Thanks to ReGeeken for the review … if you haven’t yet read 4 Seconds, hopefully this notice will bet you off the fence. And if you have read it, first of all — thank you … and second of all, read it again! (And tell a friend!)
