“X” Is For …
… The X-Men and the Micronauts! (1984)
Far and away the best X-title Marvel every produced!
Nah, who am I kidding? I forgot this series as soon as I read it. I list it here just to fill out the letter and to get a little face-time for my beloved Micronauts.
There are an absolute blizzard of “X” books, nearly all of them mutant books from Marvel. I’ve already confessed by love for Uncanny X-Men — now you need to tell me which (if any) of the auxillery X-books I should read. I’m sure there is a pony somewhere in that pile.

My favorite X-Men spin-off is New X-Men, as helmed by Craig Kyle and Chris Yost from 2005. It’s the 4th or 5th generation of X-students, and the run is steeped in classic Uncanny continuity revolving around Nimrod. The characters are wonderful, and its a shame that most of them have been relegated to wallpaper status since the book ran its course. Rockslide, Pixie and Anole seem to be the only ones to maintain steady work since then. (And, of course, X-23, but the cloned Wolverine was always destined for more.)

X-Cellent! Just the kind of comment I’m looking for. Scrolling through “X” on Marvel Unlimited is the doorway to despair … SO many titles, and no way to know where to start. Will add this one to the list (although I’m guessing I’ll find it under “N?”)

My choice for the letter X has got to be Xenozoic Tales. This short lived title spun off into an animated series, toys, video games, and even comics written by Rascally Roy Thomas.

Good call! Don’t think I ever read that, but I remember the solicitations. Another book to hunt down.

X-Factor was decent for the first few issue until it went downhill. X-Force, the less said about that the better. I did like X-Men First Class, though. I thought it was a very fun series.
I was a big fan of both the X-Men and the Micronauts, so The X-Men and the Micronauts will get my vote. Of course, the Uncanny X-Men wasn’t “The Uncanny” until #114.

Another vote for X-Men and the Micronauts? I can’t believe it. I figured to be inundated with X-Book recommendations.
So I’m guessing most of this stuff was just unwise line extensions …?
