March Madness Supervillain Tournament Of Evil — ROUND ONE!
Welcome to the opening round of the Longbox Graveyard March Madness Supervillain Tournament of Evil!
Last week we asked you to select one villain from a cast of thousands to join our contest as the #16 seed. After a bloody, seven-day struggle that saw hundreds of votes cast … THANOS emerged the winner, narrowly defeating Ultron. For his prize, Thanos draws an opening round match-up with top seed Magneto!
celebrate while you can, Thanos …!
Here are the top ten results of our “play-in” game …
But enough with the preliminaries — it is time for the full tournament to begin!
You are to vote for ONE bad guy in each match-up below. The terms of the vote are deliberately vague. Are you voting for your favorite villain? The villain who would win in a fight? Maybe the villain that has made the greatest mark on comics? It’s up to you … vote based on the color of their costumes if you like, just so long as you vote!
Here’s the full field for the MARCH MADNESS SUPERVILLAIN TOURNAMENT OF EVIL!
This opening round will last about a week … now get voting!

Interesting to see when I voted on the Luthor/Goblin debate, it was split 50/50. I went with Luthor myself. Also another 50/50 split with the loki/Dark Phoenix fight. I can see how’d this one would be hard to pick, old god, vs new. I went with DP in the grounds that the Phoenix force could conceivably wipe out not just a universe, but a multiverse, and probably Loki too unless Odin steps in. Good match ups except for Catwoman and Two-Face who got the shit end of the stick with Darkseid and Galactus respectively.

I was surprised that Dark Phoenix didn’t put up more of a fight against Loki. Maybe Magneto getting wiped out at the top of the ticket has a chilling effect on other X-Men characters down the ballot? Dunno.
And it did look like the Goblin was going to give Lex a run for it early in the voting, but the Metropolis Mastermind pulled ahead comfortably by the end. But now, Galactus looms …

I see we have one big upset brewing with Thanos over Magneto! If this poll have been taken 5 years ago, I bet the numbers would be reversed.

We shall see … Doom can’t afford to look past Darkseid in the next round!

Just voted, and if the numbers so far are anything to go by, this does seem to be based on likely outcome (because, naturally, I think my choices are the correct ones:)
Except for the one or two ballot stuffers going for Two-Face – what are they on?
I’m going on the record to predict a likely Galactus v Darkseid final.
Wiith Dr Doom as popular outsider most likely to produce an upset, the super-villain Sanders so to speak. I’m feelin’ the Doom.

I think Thanos and Doom are destined for the final … but we will see what the voters decide.
And Sanders/Doom sounds like one heck of a ticket for November!

You mean Doom/Sanders ticket surely? (Doom is second no one!) Although I see him more asf an independent third party kind of guy.
You’d know where you stand with Doom, so eiither way he’d get my vote (you may be relieved to hear I do not live in the US!)

On second thought, Doom’s deep connections to the Richard Nixon administration probably makes him toxic for Bernie’s ticket.

Doom should have stood – if the actual result is anything to go by, he would have got to the White House in a landslide!
Turns out, crashing the GOP ticket is an easier route to world domination than having to fight all those meddling superheroes. Who knew?
Trump didn’t even have to bother with the hassle of teaming up with the Sub-Mariner (Although I’m told this Pence fella might be even crazier)
Congrats on your new chief.
And good luck:)
