    It’s really interesting how the same character can be drawn in like 9000 different ways and can always still be the same distinct character. As long as there’s a freaky smile, creepy-white face, and green hair always makes the Joker so… Jokery.

      An excellent observation, and it helps point toward what makes the Joker a classic character. The same can be said of Batman, by the way — we’ve got the Dick Sprang version, the Adam West TV version, Frank Miller’s version, and on and on … all very distinct from each other, but all still recognizably, “Batman.” It’s what puts the “icon” in “iconic!”
