The deed done, Benjamin Franklin made this comment: “Let’s hang together or most assuredly we shall hang separately.”- The British lion was not a tame house cat- these men took their lives into their hands.

One of my favorite quotes from the Revolution — apt, witty, and true. Everyone who signed the Declaration of Independence was signing their own death warrant. They would all have hanged, separately or otherwise.
Have a happy 4th of July!

Late to the party here (so what else is new, right-but I was on a mission, so that’s how it goes): I am extremely patriotic to the IDEAL of America; what’s happening now is heartbreaking, disappointing, & would make a Nomad out of Steve Rogers again, IMHO.
Let’s hope we don’t cave to the willing loss of our last freedoms.

I expect Cap would have some timely wisdom to offer on things like wiretaps, drone strikes, and overseas adventurism, but for the most part I expect Marvel will confine their political stories to metaphorical conflicts like their Civil War arc. The days when a wild-eyed creator like Steve Englehart could run off half-cocked in the pages of Captain America (who you may recall he implicated Dick Nixon as head of the Secret Empire) are long gone.
Which is one of the reasons I treasure comics from the 1970s. But you already knew that …
