NEXT WEDNESDAY: #74 Master of Kung Fu: Mordillo’s Island
What great stuff. Interesting conversation those 3 surgeons are having, though it seems moot–if they’re unable to help the patient, why the soul-searching about her worth or right to treatment? Someday I’ll have to read the story so that I can understand the context.

That’s poor Laura Brown, daughter of the former supreme leader of HYDRA, and now framed as continuing in that role herself. Will Laura recover from her coma? Will Fury discover the insidious conspiracy that threatens to destroy S.H.I.E.L.D. … and the very world … in time?
Dig up a copy of Strange Tales #156 to find out!
(thanks for reading and posting, Comicsfan, this Steranko stuff is fun, isn’t it?)

I bow to your Sterankoiffic Superiority — I love those screen shots at your link, and order all Longbox Graveyard readers to CHECK THEM OUT NOW! You’ve got a couple of those great multi-page shots that don’t play nicely with my “Panel Gallery” format. So very groovy!
(And I’m going to set pointers to those images at my Pinterest page, too).

BTW, that Strange Tales issue was a feast for the eyes, both story and art. Thanks so much for pointing me to it. The man’s imagination just overwhelms, doesn’t it? 🙂

Yeah, a lot of the Strange Tales Nick Fury stuff seems kind of off-the-radar for most Marvel fans, both Steranko’s run and the original Kirby stuff. When Strange Tales was a Kirby/SHIELD and Ditko/Doctor Strange double feature I think you’d be hard-pressed to find a better Silver Age book.

A certifiable genius? Thanks for sharing these images. Steranko’s S.H.I.E.L.D. cover art and the run with Captain America #110-113 was mind-blowing stuff.

Certainly a genius by standard of his era (and I think by any era).
