  1. Some epic covers ! They remind me of being a kid and going to the barber , he always had G.I. Combat comics . That how I first discovered The Haunted Tank !!

  2. Dare I say so?
I’d trade most of these covers for an inside page without thinking twice (especially the painted ones).
Don’t misunderstand me, I like a good comic cover but what I’m really raving about is interior art. With comics, it’s all about narrative art, stupid!*

    • Yes, these images are the sweepings of some dedicated Google Image Search work, I admit it … and I too would welcome a peek at Heath’s interior work. Maybe another time. (And that time will come around a lot faster if DC determines to provide a digital subscription service for their backlist).

  3. Gotta admit, though, I love the cover for Men of War #94!

    • That cover really shows off Heath’s draftsmanship. In his introduction to the first Sgt. Rock Archive, Joe Kubert wrote that Heath drew tanks and aircraft that looked more realistic than photographs of the same thing, and it must have been this kind of cover that he had in mind.

A nice dip in the nostalgia pool. Heath is a long time favorite. Having him finish out the Enemy Ace story “War in Heaven” back in 2001 was a great choice.
